Creator God, whose sovereign word
Words: The Revd Mother Carrie Thompson
Tune: Mornington Crescent by Oliver Tarney
1. Creator God, whose sovereign word
Called heaven and earth to be;
Great King of love, whose Cross of life
Set all your children free;
O living God, whose breath and fire
Inspires the prayers we pray:
With all our heart, and mind, and soul,
We bring our praise today.
2. With eyes of faith, we see above
Your temple, bright as day,
With angels circled round your throne,
And saints in bright array;
Where all is peace, and all is light,
And myriad voices sing:
With all the heavenly host above,
Our earthly praise we bring.
3. With hearts of love, we call to mind
Our friends in every place;
As brothers, sisters, by your hand
United as one race.
In every district, borough, town,
Your people sing your praise:
We join our voice with all the world,
As we our anthems raise.
4. With shouts of joy, we raise our song:
Let heaven's archways ring!
Let every island, city, shire,
Unite to praise our King!
In hill and vale, from bank to bank,
His Name be ay adored,
'Til heaven and earth as one proclaim
That Christ alone is Lord!
