A note from the composer:
An Irish Blessing is a deeply personal work, dedicated to the memory of my mother. Setting this traditional text allowed me to create a musical space for reflection.
The piece begins with single notes that bloom into warm harmonies, as if offering solace and connection. The emotional high point arrives on the words ‘until we meet again’, a moment that carries both pain and hope.
Towards the end, I wanted time to feel as though it had stopped. The music lingers, shimmering and flickering like fragile memories. Gradually, it finds its way back to the simple, homophonic texture of the opening, leading to a final cadence that offers a gentle resolution.
